How the BioFicient works

The moving aerated media process used is a compact development of the traditional biological process and provides a more effective and complete means of reducing the loads.
1. Raw sewage gravitates to the unit where it is received in the primary settlement zone. Here, gross solids and other social debris settle to the bottom of the tank where they remain until the tank requires de-sludging.  Settled sewage is displaced from primary zone and enters the first of : two sequential moving aerated media reactors.
2. Media and liquid circulation in each zone is achieved through the use of a compressor and diffuser, which introduces fresh air into each compartment. The liquor is constantly re-circulated and contacts the moving media and as it does so, it is purified by the microorganisms (biomass) growing on the surface of the media and within the moving liquor. Excess growth of biomass is shed as solid particles into the liquor.
3. The final settlement tank is where humus solids settle to form sludge.  At preset intervals, portions of the sludge and liquor are returned to the primary tank for additional treatment.
4. Final effluent is displaced from the final settlement tank. With regulator approval, it is suitable for discharge to a watercourse or drainage field.

Biocell BioClean Sewage Treatment Plant

Biocell BioClean Sewage Treatment Plant

Biocell BioClean Sewage Treatment Plant - 6 Population

The Biocell is the latest sewage treatment plant to come on to the UK market & boasts being the most competitively priced domestic treatment plant thus far with prices starting from £1,399.00
With Low Running Costs, Low Maintenance & Easy Installation makes the Biocell a number one choice for home owners and contractors alike.
The tank is divided into three chambers:
1. Non-aerated chamber [activated sludge]
2. Aerated chamber [activated sludge]
3. Separation chamber (secondary clarifier)
Raw wastewater enters the treatment plant, first passing through a filter (A), which suspends large particles and then enters into a non-aerated chamber of activated sludge (1). Under the inlet filter device (A) (below the water level) an air lift outflow is installed (B), discharging large air bubbles.
Hydrodynamic force of the water and recirculated sludge returned from the separation chamber (3) breaks up suspended solids into smaller particles. Further mechanically treated wastewater mixes with the activated sludge in the non-aerated chamber of activated sludge (1) of the bioreactor. A mixture of sludge and wastewater from the non-aerated chamber of activated sludge (1) flows into the aerated chamber of activated sludge (2). In the bottom of the aeration chamber (2) fine bubble tube diffusers (aerators) (C) are installed. Mixed liquid from the aeration chamber flows into the separation chamber/clarifier (3), where activated sludge separates (settles) from treated water. Separated (settled) activated sludge is returned by air lift (B) to the non-aerated chamber of activated sludge (1) (under filter (A). The air blower designed for the waste water treatment plant provides the aerated chamber of activated sludge (2) with the necessary amount of air and ensures operation of the air lift (B) of recirculated sludge. Excess sludge together with large primary solids are stored in the bottom of the non-aerated chamber of activated sludge (1) and is removed typically once a year, depending on the concentration and volume of sludge accumulated in the wastewater treatment plant. The air blower delivers compressed air into the aerated chamber of activated sludge (2) for aeration and for the air lifts (B). The air blower (H) blows air into a distribution manifold (E), which distributes air to air lifts (B) and to diffuser (C) (see Fig. No. 4).
The air blower may be installed in two ways:
1.     Air blower is installed adjacent to the tank in a supplied housing. This housing should not be more than 5m away from the wastewater treatment plant.
2.     Subject to a customer‘s request, the air blower may be installed inside the tanks, in a special housing.
Delivery is between 2 - 3 working days

Thornbury Hall - Klargester BG BioDisc

Thanks to Mohamed for the order of a Klargester BG BioDisc for Thornbury Hall Grade 11 listed building.

Please see below for information on Thornbury Hall;

The listed building survey of cheadle, lists Thornbury Hall as Grade II with an Elizabethan wing at 1650 and a Georgian mansion of at 1750, but an entry in the Visitation book for 1620 records Johannes Thornebury and family as residents of a hall.
During the 18th century we have no residents list, but in 1834 the hall was occupied by a Charles Fowler, he was a farmer.
In May 1853 a Mr Godfrey Johnson held it, a conveyance dated 26th March 1866, (The devisees in trust of the late Godfrey Johnson) sold Thornbury Hall, a capital dwelling house, coach houses, barns, stables, cowhouses, yards, gardens, plantations extending with land estimated in 66 acres or thereabouts to William Shepherd Allen esquire.
Wm Allen, in 1849 purchased an adjoining property Woodhead Hall, “with some acreage of lana.” In 1912 Thornbury Hall was still owned by the Allen family. Wm Shepherd Allen resided at Thornbury Hall until the death of his father, Wm Allen on 31st March 1871. Wm Shepherd Allen (member of Parliament for Newcastle under Lyme) then had the old Woodhead Hall demolished and the present hall erected. He took ocupation of the new hall in 1873 and his wife Elizabeth Penelope, invited her parents to reside at Thornbury Hall. Her father was John Candlish, member of Parliament for Sunderland 1866 – 74. Mr Candlish died on 17th March 1874 and his widow Elizabeth continued to live at Thornbury Hall.
By 1895, WM Shepherd Allen’s son Wm Allen took up residence at Thornbury Hall. Wm Allen was a member of Parliament for Newcastle under Lyme from 1892 – 1900 as his father had been from 1861 – 1886, Wm Allen also served on first Cheadle Parish Council in December 1894.
In 1912 Thornbury Hall was rented out to a member of the Wedgewood family.

In the early 1920′s the hall was occupied by a Mr H.C. Anstey, he was an engineer, he and his family remained at Thornbury Hall until the 2nd World War. During thr war, the hall was used for accomodation for Air Ministry personnel, serving at Woodhead Hall.
With the sale by the Allen family of the Woodhead estates Thornbury was also offered for sale with 7 acres of ground. In the past 30 years the hall has had several owners, one sepearted the hall from the Coach House. The then Archdeacon of Stoke-on-Trent was a resident at the hall from 1968 – 1975 and of recent times the hall was used as a residential home. The 1990′s sees another use for Thornbury Hall when in 1990 Mohammed and Parveen Siddique restored the Thornbury Hall house from near ruin, and converted it into what is now recognised as one of the finest restaurants specialising in Pakistani cuisine. The elegance of the house lends itself perfectly to the exotic eastern decor; historic artefacts, sparkling crystal chandeliers, and
pictures of the ancient Mogul Empire. The Thornbury Group was born.

Septic Tank Emptying

At Septic Tank Supplies we offer an emptying service for both domestic and commercial applications right across the country.
We empty everything from septic tanks and sewage treatment plants right through to large scale cesspools and silage tanks.
Desludging a septic tank

Septic tank emptying is required on a regular basis for domestic and commercial premises to keep it running effectively and for legislative requirements. There can be an unpleasant odour or a septic tank smell originating from the area where the tank is located underground and from nearby drains.
If a septic tank is not emptied on a regular basis it can give rise to septic tank problems such as:
  • Effluent surfacing
  • Problems with effectively flushing the toilets
  • Pollution of nearby groundwater and the environment
Sewage treatment plants are also required to be emptied. Even though they treat the waste water, the sediment remains and builds up in the tank.
To avoid any septic tank problems occurring or issues with the drainage field, our sewage and wastewater treatment installer network are equipped to desludge and dispose of sewage waste efficiently as possible to meet legal and environmental regulations. They react quickly and cost effectively for your needs and provide the necessary environmental disposal documentation. We do not recommend disposal of your waste effluent through anyone other than an approved waste handler.
For more information or would like to arrange a booking please call us on 01923 261660 or book through our online shop

Klargester Biosafe

The best designs are the simplest. So if you require trouble free sewage treatment, your sure to be impressed with the new Biosafe from Klargester.
Fluidised, fixed-film biozones are used as the operating process, resulting in a cleaner, quieter and more efficient treatment plant.
A new generation of treatment plants for treating domestic sewage waste in a compact system of three separate stages within a ‘unitank’ design. The fluidised fixed-film biozone process provides an extremely robust means of reducing ammoniacal nitrogen.
Raw sewage flowing to the unit is received in the primary settlement zone. Gross solids settle to the bottom.
The residual effluent (supernatant liquor) is displaced from the primary stage into the two-stage biozone.
Flow circulation in the biozone is generated by the effect of a fine bubble system. During several passes through the beds, the supernatant liquor is purified by naturally occurring micro organisms (biomass) that grow on the media. The liquid displaced to the outlet is treated, and known as final effluent.
Benefits
  • Unobtrusive below ground installation
  • Suitability for varying invert levels
  • 450mm & 750mm invert options
  • Excellent durability
  • Low profile results in shallow depth excavation - saving on average 50% on installation costs
  • Simple maintenance with easy desludging
  • Pumped discharge availabale
  • Compliant with BS EN-12566

Septic Tank Bristle Filter

Why Install A Septic Tank Bristle Filter
The majority of septic tanks on the market have an internal baffle to retain the solid waste within the system and allow the effluent (dirty water) to run into a soakaway.
Over time baffles can become dislodge or damaged and this then allows the solid waste to leave the septic tank and enter the soakaway, this in tun then clogs up the soakaway and stops it from working.
How Does The Septic Tank Bristle Filter Work?
In the past the only solution when a septic tank baffle broke was to install a whole new system
With the Septic Tank Bristle Filter this is no longer the case! The Filter acts as a baffle and allows the effluent to enter the soakaway whilst containing the solids waste within the septic tank.
Installation
Installation of the Septic Tank Bristle Filter is incredibly simple and easy to install.
Simply install the Septic Tank Bristle Filter in to the vertical T on the outlet side of the septic tank or sewage treatment plant, this then removes up to 70% of suspended solids from a septic tank and 30% from a sewage treatment plants which will greatly lengthen the lifespan of your soakaway.
