Tricel Epurbloc

At Septic Tank Supplies we supply a range of septic tanks & shallow septic tanks.
One of our most popular septic tanks is the Tricel Epurcbloc, which is manufactured to the highest international standards.

Is a septic tank the correct waste water solution for me?

You may install a septic tank where soil conditions are suitable for the treatment of waste water by meeting the standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency.  If your site conforms to the EPA / NIEA regulations and you have a consent to discharge effluent from your local authority, a septic tank may be a suitable choice for you.

How do septic tanks work?

The Tricel Epurbloc Septic Tanks Systems are a rugged design manufactured using polypropylene.  The tank is divided into two compartments.
  1. Waste water flows by gravity into Chamber 1.
  2. Solids and heavier material settle to the base of the unit. A small amount of anaerobic breakdown occurs at this stage.
  3. The liquid and lighter waste material flow over the baffle into the second chamber.
  4. A specially designed outlet pipe is fitted to the unit to ensure that only the liquid flows into the percolation area. This dip pipe prevents the scum from passing into the percolation area which may block pipes.
Final improvement of the waste water occurs as it penetrates through a specially designed percolation area.
How septic tanks work

What size tank do I need?

The UK guideline for calculating correct septic tank size is 2000 litres + 180 litres per person.  For example, a family of four would require 180 litres x 4 + 2000 litres giving a total capacity of 2720 litres.
In Ireland the same calculation is used but the guideline is for 150 litres per person rather than the 180 required in the UK.
Effective sizing ensures that the waste water is given a sufficient amount of time to settle in the primary chamber and to provide ample storage volume to slow down the rate of output into the percolation area.
