History Milestones of the Company

Klargester is a company with an international reputation specialising in the manufacture of package pollution control products.

Klargester has a number of firsts to its credit and throughout its history it has developed a number of innovative products, some of which have revolutionised methods of dealing with the treatment of sewage on sites where mains drainage is not available.

1955 Company founded, originally making a unique design of concrete septic tank
1965 Launched the very first glass reinforced plastic septic tank
1970 Achieved Agrément certification for septic tank
1972 Factory moves to new HQ at Aston Clinton
1974 Introduced first version of BioDisc
1977 Initiated merchant distribution policy
1980 Supplied first major water authority treatment plant project
1980 Commenced development of export distribution network
1981 Developed first Bypass separator
1983 Launched new technology for making disc packs for BioDisc
1986 BS5750 approval
1991 Instituted Certified Installer Network
1993 Patent for unique "BioDisc flow management" granted
1998 Revolutionary Alpha septic tank manufacturing process launched
1998 Sold 250,000th septic tank
2000 Became part of Kingspan Group
2002 ISO 9001/2000 approval
2005 BioDisc tested & certified to new European Standards
2010 High Performance Envirosafe treatment plant launched
