Sustainable Homes With Rainwater Harvesting

At Septic Tank Supplies we have vast experience working toward the code of sustainable homes with rainwater harvesting for inside and outside applications. (Envireaus & Raintraps)

In order to achieve 5 credits in the code for what the code calls “Wat 1” (which is mandatory for Level 5 and above), then rainwater (or grey water) recycling will be required in practice. Even for lower code levels, a rainwater recycling system used for flushing WCs etc can be specified in order to allow higher flow rates on taps etc, which might otherwise have to be reduced in order to satisfy the code and so this can be a means of balancing your preferences against increased capital cost and maintenance requirements of the code.

At Septic Tank Supplies we understand that water is a big environmental issue – droughts, reservoirs and rivers at low levels and hose pipe bans. So in a nutshell the aim of the code when it comes to water is to reduce the consumption of potable mains water in the home, and of course water recycling systems are a great way to achieve this.

GB Drianage Solutions Ltd are happy to offer the Tricel sewage treatment plant which was recently awarded the Agrément Certification this week. Receipt of this certificate is a proven record that the treatment capability and design of the Tricel Waste Water Treatment system meets the requirement of the French Ministry.
In accordance with regulations, only Agrément certified waste water treatment systems can be installed in France to treat effluent. Adherence of this regulation ensures that ground water is protected as waste water is adequately treated to prevent pollution.
The application process to receive Agrément Certification, involves many months of technical submittals, testing, recording and submitting treatment results along with a proven record of production and service capabilities.

Tricel Sewage Treatment Plants

The Tricel sewage treatment plant system was adopted to fulfill a need to provide exceptional wastewater treatment on sites that are unsuitable for a standard septic tank.

When BS Standards EN12566-3, was introduced only treatment systems that have received European Certification can be installed.

The level of treatment achieved enables the effluent to be discharged into a watercourse subject to receiving the relevant consent to discharge from the local regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency for England and Wales, Scottish Environment Agency for Scotland and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency for Northern Ireland.

Tricel was awarded the CE mark after successfully completing 9 months of rigorous testing by the certified laboratory PIA Gmbh Testing Institute for Wastewater Technology in Aachen, Germany.
